Mary Ann K. Pollock, died suddenly from a heart attack on December 2, 2013.
Mary Ann was a long time resident of Pasadena, Maryland. She was born July 20, 1942 to the late Alan C. Knight and Vera A. Knight (Wittenburg), attended Mt Pleasant High School, graduated from University of Delaware with a degree in Education and earned her Masters degree from Loyola University in Special Education.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George E. Pollock, one brother, Robert Knight of Gainesville, Florida, her three children; Christopher Pollock and his wife Sharon of Edgewater, Tracy Crane and her husband Joseph of Pasadena and Kelly Pollock of Arnold. She had eight grandchildren: Erik, Kevin, Steven and Hannah Pollock, and Jessica Crane and her boyfriend Robert Ward, Taylor Crane and his girlfriend Courtney Palestis, Jason and Jacob Crane. She is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Knight.
Mary Ann was a teacher at the Gibson Island Country School (Eagle Cove) and a teacher and principal of Saint John's Christian Day School in Baltimore. She volunteered with Girl Scouts of America and was an active member and served on the church council and many advisory committees for Our Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She currently worked as accreditation coordinator and was past president of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association (ELEA). She was a great advocate of Lutheran education with a tremendous passion for establishing and maintaining Christian value centered education programs in schools across the country.
She loved reading, taking walks, summers in Maine, time in Ocean City, traveling the world with her husband and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Friday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Mrs. Pollock will lie-in-state in the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church 400 Benfield Blvd. Severna Park on Saturday from 11:30 AM until 12:00 Noon at which time funeral services will be held.
