Maurice "MO'" Stewart,
Mo Stewart was a faith filled man who enjoyed life! We were blessed to have found each other and celebrated 31 years of marriage. I married my best friend and the love of my life! He was a family man who loved being a Dad. It was one of his proudest moments holding his daughter Amanda for the very first time. His second proudest moment came when he walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. That day he welcomed our son-in-law Bob into our family. What a blessing!
Mo grew up having a passion for being on the water and loved to go fishing every chance he was given. It was during his early years that he would develop friendships that would last a lifetime. He cherished the times he spent with family and friends. He loved camping, going to the Outer Banks, taking charters out on the Albatross fleet. He loved to travel. It was not just about the destination but also about the journey. He loved Florida and in his later years was so happy to call it home.
One of his greatest accomplishments was serving in the Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy. Mo was very proud to be an American and to serve his country.
Mo’s Catholic faith was very important to him. He loved his Church St. Jane Frances de Chantel. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed helping out at the Knights of Columbus Lenten fish fry.
Mo was a Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Mo is survived by his wife, Barbara Stewart, daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Robert Stancil, sister Rusty German, and many dear family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Maurice and Emily Stewart, his sister Goldie Stewart, and brother Robert Stewart.
Mo Stewart, may you Rest In Peace. You will live on in our hearts and the many wonderful memories made with family and friends!
