Michele Smith

Michele Smith, 61, passed away at home during the early hours of February 12th, 2019. Michele had fought bravely against cancer since being diagnosed in May 2018. She is survived by her loving husband Vernon L. Smith; beloved son and daughter-in-law Vernon M. Smith and Stephanie R. Smith; sister Maryanne Ellis; dog Orso; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

An accomplished nurse, Michele studied to earn advanced degrees, while working full-time. In an essay, Michele once wrote that in order to be a successful nurse one must “give of yourself without receiving anything in return and feel great about your actions in the end”. Michele embodied those words until her last breath and beyond. She blessed everyone around her with her love, generosity, understanding, patience, forgiveness, and faith.

Family and friends are invited to call at McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A.3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on Thursday February 14, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM. Cremation services to follow.
