Mildred M Scheydt passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Mildred was born on January 30, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late William and Theresa Riggin. She attended Saint Mary Star of the Sea and began her long career as a bookkeeper at just 16. Mildred was known and loved by many in her community and remained close with her childhood girlfriends throughout her life. She preferred to stay active and busy, enjoying outings and trips with friends, playing bingo, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Richard Doda, and her siblings, Mary Novak, Bill Riggin, Jack Riggin, Marguerite Henthorn, and Thomas Riggin.
Mildred is survived by her husband Frederick, her daughter Michele (Eric) Braun, her stepchildren, Frederick Scheydt Jr, Cindy Brucksch (Robert Dunnigan), and Craig Schedyt, her brother, Joseph Riggin, her grandchildren, Jimmy Brucksch, Kimberly (Kerah) Miller-Brucksch, Randee (Justin) Alt, Alex (Jarred) Reusing, and Toni Braun as well as 5 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the family owned and operated McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road on Tuesday August 6th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 7th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church 8325 Ventnor Road Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park 7231 Ritchie Highway Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
