Biography

Chamberlain, Olie Ralph Chamberlain, 90, a 33 resident of Pasadena, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Doris on October 11, 2010, when he lost his battle to cancer.
He was born on October 19, 1920 to the late Bertha Mae (Nee Mallow) and Frank Chamberlain in Petersburg, West Virginia.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Amry's 30th Combat Infantry Division during WW II from 1944 - 1945, which included 6 months as a Prisoner of War. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Prisoner of War Medal and Bronze Star.
He retired as an Arborist from the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD.
He served the community of Long Point, as well as many friends and was a member of the Long Point Improvement Association and Board of Directors from 83 -97 including President, Hall Manager and manager of the Bingo games with his wife. He was a member of the Beach Club Socials for 20 years. He was a recently honored as a 50+ years member of the Damascus American Legion Post #171.
He loved playing cads, the slots, horseshoes, fishing, watching westerns, the Redskins and the Orioles. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his girlfriend Jeanette Miller, his long time friend Adam Ganzermiller and playing poker with his buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Doris (Nee Ratliff) Chamberlain, his brother Frank Chamberlain and his sisters Anna Perrin and Annette Harrington.
He is survived by his son Frank "Denny" Chamberlain and his wife Colette of Hudson Florida, his daughter Carolyn Morgan and husband Richard of Pasadena, his son Lt. Col. Michael Perry and wife Deborah of Jacksonville, N.C. his sisters-in-law Shirley Chamberlain, Helen Ratliff, Ardelle Ratliff, his brother-in-laws, John Eichelberger, "Sonny" Kisner, "Bunny" Moxley, grandchildren Christin Shepard, Jeanette Engles, Tony Chamberlain, Hollie Swart, Mary Beth Wynne, Scott Stone, Sean Morgan, Tina Hyatt, Jamie Jacobs, Karen Perry and Tiffany Coffman and 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church 200 School Lane Linthicum, Maryland on Friday at 1 PM. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. In Lieu of flower contributions may be made to the National Kidney Fund or the National Cancer Society.
