It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter D'Souza, beloved husband, father, and brother, who departed on March 30, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was the cherished husband of Loretta D'Souza, with whom he shared a loving and devoted partnership for 48 years. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Samantha D'Souza and Nicole Umholtz, who were the lights of his life. Peter’s family was his world, and he took great pride in their happiness and well-being.
Peter had a remarkable career as the Executive Director at Hope House Treatment Centers, where he dedicated his life to helping others. His leadership, compassion, and commitment to those struggling with addiction left an indelible mark on both the community and the countless individuals who benefited from his care and guidance. Those who knew Peter will remember him for his warm laughter and unconditional kindness. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel at home, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
True to his nature, he died as he lived – surrounded by love and radiating it until the very end. He was predeceased by his parents, Pascoal and Anna Raminha D’Souza and brother, Thomas DeSouza. He will be deeply missed by his wife Loretta, daughters Samantha (Neil) and Nicole (John), his sister Leticia Rodrigues, his brother Timothy D’Souza, and his many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
