Robert James Redmond, Sr.

May 19, 1949 — March 24, 2017

Redmond, Sr., Robert James, "Rob" passed away on March 24, 2017, after a 3-year battle with kidney cancer at the age of 67.  A lifetime resident of Pasadena, he graduated from Northeast High School and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. After receiving his AA degree, he worked as a database analyst and retired from the State of Maryland 3 years ago.  A devoted father, he volunteered as a coach for Lake Shore Baseball and Mountain Road Soccer.  He also served as a board member for Lake Shore Baseball throughout the years. An avid Baltimore Orioles fan, he was a season ticket holder, even before they were good again, and attended multiple spring trainings.  Rob was passionate about traveling and visiting as  many lighthouses as he could. He was a great mechanic, loved Camaros and spent countless hours restoring them with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betsy Redmond. He was a beloved father to his sons, Robert James Redmond, Jr. and his wife Beth, William Paul Redmond and his wife Jennifer, Joseph Edward Redmond and Matthew Ryan Redmond.  He was a grandfather to Andrew Parker and Addison Grace Redmond.

The family will receive friends at the family-owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A.,  3204 Mountain Road, (Pasadena) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM, where Prayer Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
