Roman Faliskie

Roman Faliskie a resident of Pasadena, MD passed away February 4, 2022 at Anne Arundel General Hospital. Roman(Skie) was born August 4, 1935 to John and Mary Faliskie of Eynon, PA where he spent his childhood. He graduated Archibald High School in 1953 and enlisted in the Air Force where he served as a Technical Instructor. While stationed outside of St. Louis, MO he met his wife Joan Ann and married her on May 4, 1957. They relocated to Maryland when he was transferred to Andrews Air Force Base and settled there where they raised two daughters. Upon completion of his military duty he worked at the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, MD and retired in 1990 as an Engineering Specialist with thirty seven(37) years of government service. Following his retirement from NSA he played golf, enjoyed his grandchildren and worked as a security guard at the North Arundel Hospital(now Baltimore Washington Medical Center).

As a resident of Pasadena since 1966 he was a member of St. Jane Frances Catholic Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, volunteered as a money counter and participated in student activities when his girls were students at the St. Jane’s. He was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association(NARFE) where he at one time served as the Publicity Chariman and the State Legislative Point of Contact. He was a lifetime member at the Phoenix Society of NSA and also a member of the National Cryptologic Museum Foundation.

He is survived by his loving wife Joan Ann; two daughters and son in laws – Barbara and CDR (Ret) Joseph Welter of Crofton, Maryland and Donna and Ken Wilson of Pasadena, MD; and three grandchildren – Michael, Daniel and Mary Welter.

Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena, Maryland 21122 on Wednesday February 9, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 10, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 8499 Virginia Avenue Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
