Stephen Montgomery, Sr.

Stephen Anthony Montgomery, Sr. of Pasadena, MD, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 20, 2017.  He was born July 24, 1948 in Baltimore, MD to Julius and Glenna (nee Nestor) Montgomery.  He graduated in 1967 from Baltimore City College and had a successful career as a master plumber.  Prior to retiring, he worked as foreman for Madison Mechanical for 25 years, and was owner and operator of Montgomery Plumbing and Heating Company. On March 21, 1970 in Winchester, VA, he married his loving wife of 46 years, Marguerite Christina Montgomery (nee Doyle), and together they raised six beautiful children.  He enjoyed annual vacations, camping in West Virginia with family and friends, and was very fond of his beloved dog Buster.

He is survived by his wife Marguerite Montgomery, sons Stephen Montgomery, Jr. (wife Gwen), Charles Montgomery (wife Kim), Julius Montgomery (fiancé Janice), and Craig Montgomery, daughters Valerie Hamrick (husband Stephen), and Heather Leary (husband Gary), grandchildren Stephen Montgomery III, Gary Leary Jr., Preston Hamrick, Tyler Montgomery, Zechariah Montgomery, Devon Montgomery, Gabriel Montgomery, Brittany Leary, Kimberly Shipley, Carly Montgomery, Darrell Gottschalk, and Matthew Gray.

He is also survived by his sister Karen McKew, brother John Montgomery, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Julius Montgomery, mother Glenna Montgomery, brothers Julius Montgomery Jr., Charles Montgomery Sr., David Montgomery, and Duane Montgomery.

Family and friends are invited to call at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A., 3204 Mountain Road (Pasadena, MD) on Sunday March 26, 2017 from 3pm to 5pm & 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 27, 2017 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
