Sue Ann Ramsey of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2025, at the age of 77.
Sue was born on April 26, 1947, in Riverton, West Virginia to the late Fred and Ruby Vance. She grew up in Ruddle, WV alongside her 18 brothers and sisters. She was known as an ace volleyball player and loved a good game of Jacks. After Sue finished school, she found her way to Maryland in the early 60's, where she met the love of her life, Tim. They were married in 1964, planted roots in their forever home, started their family and created a simple life they were very proud of.
Sue spent many of her adult years working for Wagner Brothers, along with several of her sisters, while being the best wife, mother and Nanny. Sue would consider herself a shopaholic, loving to shop for clothes, turquoise jewelry & cosmetics. She also loved having her nails and hair done, the blonder the better. She loved vacationing in Pigeon Forge, front porch sitting, Dolly Parton, and she loved a good joke or a funny story. But above all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Sue was the most thoughtful, caring, loving, forgiving and selfless person you could ever meet. She never met a stranger, would give anyone the shirt off her back, saw the good in everyone and would never pass up the opportunity to give her full attention to any child. She was "Sue" to some, but to many she was "Nanny." To know her was to love her.
Sue leaves behind and will be greatly missed by Tillman "Tim" Ramsey, her devoted husband of over 60 years. A son, Tillman "Timmy" Ramsey of Greensboro, MD. A daughter Kimberly "Kim" Isaacs (Jimmy) of Preston, MD. 7 grandkids Chastity Stubbs (Justin), Holli Ramsey (Jonathan), Harley Cohee (Shane), Logan Higgs (Doug), Travis Isaacs (Courtney), Cheyenne Lee and Cole Ramsey. 12 great grandkids Makenzie, Kalli, Zach, Alex, Rhyder, Lucy, Harlan, Lewis, Larkin, Delaney, Camryn and Maddie as well as 11 brothers and sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several cherished siblings.
Sue's family will receive friends and family on Sunday February 9, 2025, from 11:00am-1:00pm at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA with funeral services to immediately follow.
In Lieu of flowers Sue has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the link below. And a special Thank You to Hospice of the Chesapeake for their compassion and care.
