Vanessa Swartz, M.D.

Vanessa Diane Swartz M.D.,  (Crisman), 44, entered into eternal life on September 9, 2017. She was born August 31, 1973, to Daniel A. and Diana K. Swartz (nee Richards), in Newark, Ohio. She graduated from Jackson (OH) High School in 1991. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton with a  Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and received a Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, in 1999. She was trained as a pathologist. On May 6, 2006, Vanessa married Peter Crisman in Baltimore, MD, who survives her at home.

She is survived by her brother, Shawn (Kimberly) Swartz, of Wellston, OH; brother-in-law, Andrew (Danielle) Crisman of Loveland, CO; an aunt, Myrtle Caughenbaugh (Neil) and an uncle, Robert Richards, both of Logan, OH; a cousin, Sharon Callahan, of Mooresville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Diana Swartz (nee Richards).

The family will receive friends at the family-owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 237 East Patapsco Avenue, (Brooklyn) 21225, on Friday, from 3-6 P.M. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 16th, at 1 P.M. in the Church of the Advent (Episcopal), 1301 S. Charles St., (Federal Hill), 21230. Interment following will be Private. Please join the family for a reception in the church Parish Hall immediately following the Mass In lieu of lfowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the CHURCH OF THE ADVENT,  in care of the funeral home.
