On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Walter “Buddy” Taylor, Jr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Buddy was born in High Point, NC on July 7th, 1936, to and preceded in death by Sarah (Bradshaw) and Walter Taylor, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bobby” Taylor and survived by his brother William “Bill” Taylor, sister Brenda (Taylor) Wood and many nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Audrey and his son, Walter “Davy” Taylor. He is survived by his daughter Kim and daughters-in-law Julia “Shortie” and Betty Taylor. Buddy is also survived by 8 grandchildren and their spouses and 14 great grandchildren, Rusty (Natalie and Nolin), Justin and Irie (Harrison), Heather and Colin (Connor and Camden), Tiffany (Mayson and Audrina), JoJo and Erika (Joseph, Quinn, and Carson), Joey (Hanna and Brenna), Lauren and Andrew (Lily and Sofia) and Tara.
Buddy’s pride and joy was his family. You would often find one of his grandchildren (great-grandchildren) snuggled beside him in his chair. As a young man, and for many decades after, he loved the sport of Putt-Putt Golf, where he made a lot of friends along the way and encouraged his family to do the same.
