Walter Jones, Jr.

Walter S. Jones, Jr., 79, passed away at BWMC on Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He was born on July 17, 1937 to Walter S. Jones, Sr., and Anna V. Larsen in Brooklyn, Maryland. On June 15th, 1957, he married Eleanor "Caroline" Lee in Brooklyn, Maryland.
As a young man, Walter & his brother-in-law, Robert Lee, owned and operated a successful business, Brooklyn Park Roofing. In later years, he was employed by Harbor Hospital Center as a security guard. Walter finished his career at Chesapeake Finished Metals in Hanover, Maryland when he retired due to illness.
Prior to becoming ill, Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He has always enjoyed watching wrestling on TV every Monday night and watching the NFL games on Sunday afternoons. One of his favorite hobbies was cooking for his family, who deemed him an excellent cook. When Walter was able, he would lend a hand wherever and whenever needed. He was a quiet man, who always tried to see the positive in everything.
Walter is survived by his wife, Caroline, of 59 years, his daughter, Deborah Miller and her husband, Allan Miller, grandson, Anthony "Tony" Jones and his wife, Marie Jones, granddaughter, Amanda Thornhill, 4 beautiful great-grandchildren, Zoe Riser, Ryan Thornhill, and Kaitlyn & Kendall Jones, 3 sisters, Shirley Hawrysch, Ann Marie George-Fell, and Nancy Olup. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. We cannot forget Walter's canine pet companion, Mo-Jo, who has been at his side for the past 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Reba F. Polis (1936 - 1974).
Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 237 East Patapsco Avenue (BROOKLYN) on Wednesday November 2, 2016, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
