Biography
On August 10, 2009, WILLIAM JOEL, beloved husband of Lois E. Burton (nee Doggendorf) devoted father of Elizabeth Steere, Mary (Turee) Snizek, Ellen Lyon, Kathleen Wientraub, Heather Boughey and W. Joel Burton; dear brother of Ruth Wilbur, Lorna Avritch, Ticy Thomas and John Burton. Grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Jenkins Memorial Church, 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, Maryland on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 AM. Interment will be private for the family at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Bill Burton Enviromental research Library at Gibson Island Country School, 5191 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122.
