Wilma Imelda Compton, 89, passed away on April 16, 2022, after battling dementia for 6 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Roland (Sonny) Compton, and brothers Harold and Richard Ridge.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Elizabeth and her husband Jim Hall, Cheryl Ann and her husband (Ducky) Kazmarek, Buddy and his wife Donna Westcoat. Loving grandmother of Jim and his wife Lauren Kazmarek, Christopher and his wife Jessica Kazmarek, Kristy Lovett and Brandon and his wife (Jenn) Smith. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilma was born in South Baltimore, Maryland to Harold and Imelda (Messick) Ridge. Wilma was very close to her maternal grandparents. She spent a lot of time with them going to church and learning to bake. Wilma was very close to her aunt Anna Mae growing up as well.
Wilma was the rock of the family, always taking care of everyone. She was the kindest, compassionate, honest, loving person and saw the best in everyone. Wilma worked in the food industry starting at White Coffee Pot on Light Street, managed Clarks and Hochschild Kohn and even had a little carry out in the city.
She enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, traveling across the U.S. and abroad, and bowling for over 20 years with Sonny. She moved to Homestead, Florida until hurricane Andrew forced them to relocate to Rockledge, Florida in 1992
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 320 Mountain Road PASADENA on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
